New year, New me. First project completed, and I am coming back to keep up with my writing. My first project I completed was the guided, but minimal direction project. This is the first project I have done with a structure but no steps.
I have recently moved away from Github to Codeberg. This was a very smooth transition, migrating all my repos over, and starting my development there. I also decided to use Codeberg Pages to host this site, after a bit of wrestling with HTML and CSS only I decided to try Jekyll as a Static Site Generator (SSG). It made reusing sections and managing page styles very simple. There is a difference with Github and Codeberg Pages.
I have fallen into the trap it seems many people learning Rust do. They start, get stuck, stop, go back to the start and never get past that. Watching this video and doing some other reading, I have tried to come up with some plans around how I will learn.
As it comes to the end of a year, and looking into next the normal considerations around resolutions and what I can do better start to cross my mind. My aim now is to move away from just pulling together random bits of code, and actually build and finish some projects. Writing a blog, documenting my projects and discussing the process is hopefully going to lead to a deeper understanding and force me to produce higher quality and completed projects. Now when the new year starts, I am going to be ready to document what I am doing, and my configuration is ready to be as effective as possible.
